The Port Tobacco Chapter, NSDAR, salutes our active-duty military and veterans

  • Honoring 29 Vietnam veterans on Vietnam Veterans Day in 2022

  • Contributing coffee, snacks, and diapers to active duty military at Indian Head, Maryland, is an ongoing effort following the closing of the United Service Organizations (USO)

  • Donating items and funds to the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home

  • Volunteering with veterans at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in sing-a-longs and bingo events

  • Awarding Junior ROTC medals to a deserving senior at each of the seven Charles County high schools

  • Laying a wreath on the grave of Thomas Stone, signer of the Declaration of Independence, each year on Independence Day

  • Participating in naturalization ceremonies

  • Acquiring a proclamation from the county commissioners and setting up a Constitution Week display in the La Plata Public Library

  • Sponsoring DAR Medal of Honor winners

  • Sponsoring DAR Americanism winner

Pizza Party for our Troops!
